Local Conservative Campaign Defeats Loony Lambeth’s ‘Chair Tax’ Plan

Your Conservative Councillors recently forced Lambeth Council to re-think proposals to charge restaurants and other businesses a “pavement tax” for the privilege of placing tables, chairs and items for sale on their own privately-owned forecourts in front of their properties.

Thanks to all the traders in Abbeville Road who signed our petition against this bonkers idea.  As Tim Briggs, a key member of the CC Conservative Action Team said: “The irony is that Lambeth Council claims to support small businesses.  We are delighted we have got them to think again on this one.”
