Streatham Conservatives welcome the news that the council has reversed its bonkers decision to cancel the Lambeth Country Show

Town Hall killjoys have cancelled this year’s Lambeth Country Show. Popular with children, families, teenagers and older people, the show unites Lambeth’s diverse population with a range of attractions from sheep-shearing to afro-dub sound systems. Streatham Conservatives are calling for the Council to urgently review their decision.

Conservative London Mayor Boris Johnson  has so far created 83 green spaces- the fourth highest of any London borough- for Lambeth residents to grow their own food, six of which were funded by the LDA .

Under Boris we’ve planted 357 street trees in Lambeth after cancelling Ken Livingstone’s propaganda sheet The Londoner.

LB Lambeth will receive £375,000 for Streatham High Road from the Mayor of London. The funding will be used to improve the look and feel of the street and shopfronts and to extend works to improve the pedestrian environment by removing guardrails and making changes to the central reservation as well as funding seasonal events along the street.
